About Michaela

Michaela Klose, APRN, FNP-BC, NP-C, is double board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She comes to OPAL Healthcare & Wellness in Dallas, Texas, with more than 20 years of nursing experience. She quickly advanced to a variety of clinical and administrative leadership positions after working to impact patient care in many different ways.

As a recognized presenter and lecturer, Michaela has provided information for numerous students, universities, and organizations on a wide variety of topics, including traumatic brain injury, transcultural nursing, and public health. She has also published work on the safety of medication administration and has provided consultation to hospitals and community health settings within the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Barbados, and Africa. Her diverse background in the field of nursing ranges from trauma, surgery, neurology, pediatrics, community health, case management, program development, LGBTQ Ally health, and as a Chief Nursing Officer/Chief Operating Officer. 

As a cancer survivor, the experience has given Michaela the opportunity to understand the other side of healthcare as a patient and has had a profound impact on how she cares for her patients. Michaela has a passion for talking with her patients, getting to know their unique circumstances, and establishing both short and long-term health care goals. She is dedicated to using the most up-to-date, research-based approach to providing health care that targets the needs of her patients and families. Michaela prides herself on educating her patients to ensure they fully understand their current condition and their prescribed path to better health.

She strongly believes in personal responsibility, how lifestyle, stress, and diet impact the health of her patients and their families. Her plan of care includes a holistic approach combining modern medication with supplements, vitamins, a healthy diet, and exercise. She has a special interest in treating high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity, anxiety/depression, thyroid disorders, and post-menopausal conditions. Michaela also enjoys the aesthetics part of her practice performing chemical peels, micro-needling, hydrodermabrasion, and skin tightening with radio frequency.

Michaela enjoys traveling with her family and friends, going to concerts, volunteering with refugees, teaching fellow nurse practitioner students, and watching her favorite college basketball team…the Gonzaga Bulldogs.
